CAST project introduction

“The CApacity building for success – foSTering youth professional realization and employability” project (acronym: CAST) is program that offers to all trainees a joint training program, aiming at delivering learning outcomes that help develop their independent careers.

The training programs that project offers include professional studies held in an artificial environment where applicable in order to create immediate adequacy of the employee or worker with the labor environment.

Brief project description and objectives

While in the last two decades in Europe, entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial potential re-emerged as а key item in the political and economic аgendаs, Western Balkans are adopting а new growth model for unlocking regional potential. In this process of (re-) vitalizing entrepreneurship, four inter-linked components are considered as important part:

  • Regional development actors and the relationships emerging at institutional and civil level;
  • Business environment factors and specific constrаints;
  • Institutional support (incl. local authorities, community support), and finally;
  • Economic, social and environmental trends.

These components make up the entrepreneurial ecosystem. However, copying a well-performing national entrepreneurial eco-system is not an option in the transition process of post-soviet economies because of both resources and capabilities.

In line with the priority of the European cohesion policy, the European Social Fund, Youth Employment Initiative, and the European Regional Development Fund to reduce youth unemployment, the project objective is to bridge the gap between the needs and requirements of the MSMEs sector, market, education and employment by:

Strengthening competitive-based value chains by identifying and developing key intervention points (capacity-building, training, knowledge transfer);
Identifying driving factors that could improve competitive-based value chains;
Facilitating quality level and excellence of the regional stakeholders and institutions by proposing recommendations/ structural models to contribute to active international integration and a strong view on regional sustainability.
